Determined to ward off impeachment moves from the rival Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors have thrown their weight behind the embattled Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal.
Apart from the governors, APC senators have also pledged to stand by the Speaker and ensure that he is not ousted, as a result of his recent defection from the PDP to APC.
The resolve by the APC governors and senators followed a directive by the leadership of the party, which mandated every member, especially those holding top elective positions to rally round Tambuwal.
Revealing the new measures to protect Tambuwal, a prominent member of the party, who pleaded anonymity, said the leadership of the party had asked the party’s governors to support the speaker, both financially and morally.
