A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Advocacy for Integrity and Economic Development, on Thursday dragged Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, the state House of Assembly, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and state Agricultural and Multi-purpose Credit Agency before the Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta over a sum of N2 billion loan. The loan was said to be meant for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) development fund of the CBN.
The NGO is seeking four reliefs and a restraining order against the governor and other defendants from disbursing the money. Sometimes in September, Amosun sought approval of the House over the fund, but the NGO in a bid to stop the government and other stakeholders from disbursing it, went to the Federal High Court to seek an order restraining the CBN from releasing the money.
