Another Move To Unseat Mu’azu Begins In court

Fresh and second  plot to unseat the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Adamu Mu’azu began yesterday before a Federal High Court in Abuja as the court was asked to declare Mu’azu’s appointment illegal.
Apart from PDP and Muazu, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was also listed as defendant.
Muazu was appointed by the party’s National Executive Committee to succeed Alhaji Bamanga Turkur, who resigned as the national chairman of the party on January 15, 2014.
In the fresh suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/729/2014, the plaintiff, Emmanuel Onu, who is a PDP member is praying the court for a declaration that the purported resignation letter of Bamanga Tukur presented by President Goodluck Jonathan to the National Executive Committee is in clear violation of Sections 47(5) and (6) of the 2012 Constitution of the PDP.
He also wants the court to declare that the appointment of Mu’azu as the chairman of PDP is invalid and is in non-compliance with laid down procedure of Sections 45(1) and (2) of the 2012 constitution of the PDP.
