Despite the decision to allow him and others with presidential ambitions to collect the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms, the son of the former Prime Minister, AbdulJelili Tafawa Balewa, on Thursday announced that he had dropped out of the presidential primary election of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) slated for December 6.
Apart from withdrawing from the presidential race, he pledged his support for the candidacy of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Balewa announced his withdrawal from the presidential race at a press conference organised by the Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark.
